Overall, I would recommend buying this car in 2022 if you can find it for the right deal. This car is also very easily modifiable, even for the most basic consumer. Also had the Mopar Cold Air Intake installed to help the MPG's a bit and save some $$ on air filters. Downshifting is 1000% smoother, same with upshifts (Gears 3-5 seem to have the most issues for most consumers). Night and day difference and totally worth the extra cash, especially if you drive this vehicle locally and not on the interstate daily. What I recommend is going to either a local shop or a dealership that can flash and update the PCM & ECM modules as well as do the relearn for the transmission. With all that being said, I will agree that the shifting in between certain gears can be a bit annoying and sometimes rough. Had to replace the thermostat at about 67K miles, but other than that I have enjoyed being in this vehicle and driving it as much as I possibly can. I am fairly certain I got lucky because I have had very little issues with mine since purchasing it last year. You name it, you've probably read about it somewhere on the internet. Transmission problems, electrical malfunctions, engines going bad. Now, of course I had done countless reading and research on the 200's before I bought it, and 90% of the reviews I read were negative. Not only does it look sporty on the outside, but it feels the exact same way on the inside. The Chrysler 200S sold me the minute I got into it and started the test drive.
Did not care for the Hyundai, even though it was a few years newer with about 15K more miles on it. I went to the dealership and test drove two vehicles that day, my Chrysler and a Hyundai Elantra. V6 engine, HID headlamps with LED fog lights, and silver 19 inch wheels all for 11.5K. I bought mine last year, 2015 200s w/65K miles on it. Hello all! Figured I would drop a review for anyone who is interested in purchasing this vehicle in 2022.
All in all, I think it was worth the longer drive for the smooth car buying experience and for the competitive pricing. The entire experience took about 3 hours, including the financing, which is quite rapid, I think. They are now detailing it for us, and we plan to pick it up next weekend. We ended up picking a very nice 3 row SUV with ample towing capacity that even already had a hitch on it. They let us test drive all of them, and were patient with my two kids. But we drove the other two, and even found a couple more on the lot to consider. Because the vehicles I was interested in were at different location, they offered to have all vehicles brought to the location closest to where we live. I identified 3 cars I was interested in, and called a couple days in advance to schedule our visit. We found LA Auto exchange had a good variety of options available, and had very competitive prices compared to others in the LA area. Shopped around on for vehicles we were interested in.
